Piaggio has tasted phenomenal success with the Aprilla SR 150 Scooter with most of the younger generation going in for the bike. However, to be more appealing, they have launched a more affordable and lesser powered variant of the scooter badged as the SR 125.
The SR 125 uses the same body and chassis of the SR 150, save for the SR125 badging on the front and side fenders along with new graphics, a longer seat and a single piece rear grab handle.
Powering the Scooter is a 125cc engine that produces 9.5bhp at 7,250rpm and 9.9 nm of torque at 6,250rpm. The rest of the mechanicals stay the same and it rides on the same 14-inch wheels wrapped in 120/70 section front and rear tyres. Braking duties are managed by 220mm front disc brake and 140mm rear brake. The 6.5 litre fuel tank is also carried over from its elder sibling but is said to return 37.88 kmpl.
Aprilla has also added two new paint shades for the Aprilla SR 125 namely Matte silver and gloss blue which are exclusive to the SR 125 only . In terms of competition the bike will take on the Honda Activa 125, Suzuki Access 125, Vespa 125 and the newly launched TVS NTorq 125.
