Honda’s two most desirable models in the Indian market have been crash tested by Global NCAP to check their crash worthiness. Both models have secured four stars Global NCAP has revealed.
The Honda Jazz and fourth generation City both managed to ace up four stars for adult protection. But the City on its end went a step higher to win for child safety, read on to find out.
An important point to note is that both models tested are in their base spec trims and come with minimal safety features. The Jazz tested comes with two airbags, ABS, lap belt in the rear seat, side head impact –protection as standard but misses out on ESC.
The City however comes with two frontal airbags, ISOFIX anchorages, ABS, lap belt in the rear centre seat, side head impact protection as standard but misses out on ESC.
The Honda Jazz during the assessment is said to have shown a stable structure, however it was noted that the Jazz model tested does not come with ISOFIX anchorages as standard therefore the reason for three star rating for child safety.
The Honda City in its fourth generation during its assessment showed an unstable structure and footwell area but thanks to the ISOFIX anchorages and rearward facing position of one its child dummies, the City scored an average four stars up its sleeve
