
Skoda Auto has introduced the new Monte Carlo edition for the fourth generation Fabia range.
An iconic nameplate introduced since 2011, Monte Carlo commemorates the brand’s many victories at the legendary rally. The new Monte Carlo edition joins existing variants such as S, SE comfort, SE L, colour edition and will sit at the top of the range in the Fabia line-up
The new Skoda Fabia Monte Carlo edition receives quite some substantial design updates to differentiate it from the regular model. These include black elements for the front grille, wing mirrors and roof.
There’s also side skirting, front lip spoiler and rear diffuser like rear profile.16 and 17-inch alloy wheels with removable plastic trims are on offer along with optional 18-inch Libra wheels.

When it tends to interiors, the new Skoda Fabia Monte Carlo has a totally black interior with red accents and carbon look detailing on the armrests and dashboard. There’s also with three spoke steering wheel and stainless steel pedals a digital instrument cluster with a specific more dynamic background for layouts.
Monte Carlo spec Fabia also pack in leather upholstery for the steering wheel and handbrake lever. Standard equipment however includes LED ambient lighting in red for the dashboard, white ambient lighting for the Amundsen infotainment system. . Other optional extras include a heated steering wheel and a heated windscreen for increased safety in winter.
Talking about tech, there’s the usual 10.25 inch digital instrument cluster along with an 8-inch infotainment system as standard. Skoda is also offering a wider 9-inch infotainment system with gesture control with any need to shell out extra.

Mechanically under the hood, the Fabia Monte Carlo gets its power from a total of four engine options with high levels of efficiency. Customers get a choice of two engine options
You get 1.0 litre MPI petrol, with 95ps and 175Nm mated to either a 6-speed manual or an optional 7-speed DSG gearbox. There’s also the more powerful and larger in displacement 1.5 litre Evo motor on offer, it packs in 110ps and 250Nm torque and can only be had with a DSG gearbox as standard.
Monte Carlo spec Fabia customers can also opt for the sport chassis as an option, the sport chassis comes with firmer springs and gets lowered by 15mm for more dynamic driving characteristics.

All that focus on making the car sportier and powerful to qualify under the Monte Carlo moniker hasn’t come at the compromise of safety. The Fabia Monte Carlo comes with an array of safety systems and more.
Just like other models in the range safety features add up nine airbags, travel assist, park assist and ISOFIX child safety anchors. The Fabia is also said to score a five star rating in the Euro NCAP tests.
