TVS has launched the NTorq 125cc Scooter in the Indian market and the new scooter has been launched in Goa.
The NTorq125 design looks inspired from a stealth aircraft with the razor-sharp styling. The design highlights of the scooters are neatly racked front apron, aggressive headlamp cluster with batwing style daytime running bar, fake air vents and stylish taillamp design.
TVS has packed its new scooter with as many as 30 features many of which are first in segment like the Pass light switch, sporty stubby exhaust, jet style external fuel cap, engine kill switch, 22 litres under seat storage with boot lamp and USB charger. The most talked about feature of the scooter is its fully digital instrument cluster which is Bluetooth-enabled, with TVS SmartXonnect technology.
The Smart XConnect also has 3 display modes such as Street and Sport (Displays relevant information in the cluster based on whichever is selected). It gets navigation assist, caller id, last parked location, top speed of the scooter, in-built lap-timer, phone-battery and signal strength, last parked location assist, service reminder, 0 – 60 speed recorders, incoming call/SMS alert. and three trip meters.
Powering the Scooter is a 124.79cc 3 valve single cylinder engine producing 9.5 bhp of max power at 7,500rpm and 10.5nm of torque at 5,500rpm. The air-cooled engine comes mated to a cvt automatic gearbox and comes with a company claimed top speed of 95kmph and 0 to 100kmph in 9 seconds. The 12-inch diamond cut alloy wheels come fitted with roto petal disc brakes which is a first in segment. Suspension duties are handled by telescopic suspension upfront and a gas – charged coil spring at the rear.
TVS may have entered the crowded 125cc scooter segment late but like they say better late than never, the NTorq125 is a well-rounded package and ticks all the right boxes with many first in segment features. Currently 4 exciting colour options are offered in Matte Yellow, Matte Green, Matte White and Matte Red.
