Coastal Honda has launched the new updated Jazz facelift in Goa with minor cosmetic changes both inside and outside and updated safety kit.
The 2018 Honda Jazz sports chrome door handles, LED rear taillamps and restyled alloy wheel pattern. Honda has also revised the variant line-up with the base variant now known as S trim available only in the diesel engine, while higher trims get both options. The E and SV trim have been discontinued.
The interior has been enriched with the new family look which all latest Honda’s have. Dominating the dashboard is a touchscreen infotainment system and Automatic climate control with touchscreen panel. It also gets front centre armrest, chrome accents for door trim and push button start/stop button with red and white illumination. However it’s surprising to note that Honda has omitted the magic seats once available on the car.
The 17.7cm touchscreen which the company likes to call Digipad gets Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, Turn by turn in-built Navigation with voice commands and Reverse camera display.
Features on board the hatchback include driver side vanity mirror, driver seat height adjust, tilt steering wheel, 354 litres boot space, leather wrapped steering and gear knob, Electrical adjust for outside rear view mirrors and paddle shifts for CVT auto variants. Honda has also boosted the level of safety kit in the new Jazz with rear parking sensors and speed sensing auto door lock.
Mechanically the Honda’s Premium hatchback lies unchanged, and it continues to be powered by the same set of petrol and diesel engines. The 1.2 litre I-VTEC petrol produces 90PS at 6000rpm and 110Nm of torque at 4800rpm. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual and CVT. The 1.5 litre I-DTEC diesel puts out 100bhp at 3600rpm and 200Nm of torque at 1750rpm, this engine comes coupled to a 6-speed manual gearbox.
Honda has also added two new colours to the Jazz line-up which include Radiant red and Lunar silver metallic.
