The new Maruti Suzuki Ciaz sports a new front end with a new front grille, LED headlamps with daytime running lamps, new front and rear bumper. As seen in this spy image, the changes at the rear are minimal with the inclusion of LED effect taillamps and dull aluminium surrounds for the rear reflector in the bumper. The facelifted family sedan will also get new alloy wheels and LED fog lamps.
The facelifted Ciaz will also get minor updates to the interior. The dashboard now has a wood inlay running the length of the dashboard and door panels. The instrument cluster has been reworked with a new colour display for the MID. Maruti has also added Cruise Control buttons for the steering wheel.
Powering the new Sedan is a brand new 1.5 litre petrol engine that will come coupled to the SHVS smart hybrid system, while the diesel will continue with the 1.3 litre Multijet engine. Since the Ciaz is going to be equipped with Smart hybrid system on both fuels, expect improved economy figures.
Setting a new bar to the safety aspect of the car is news of the facelifted Ciaz being offered with seat belt warning and speed warning system that gives out a single beep at 80kmph and double beeps when speeds cross 100kmph, along with the ABS, EBD and dual airbags.
Stay tuned for more details of the new Ciaz once it launches on 20th August.
