Maruti Suzuki has unveiled the new Ignis facelift at the ongoing 2020 Auto Expo in Delhi. The new Ignis exudes an SUV design, spacious interiors and peppy 1.2 litre bs6 compliant petrol engine.
Speaking at the launch, Mr. Kenichi Ayukawa, MD & CEO, Maruti Suzuki India Limited said, “IGNIS enjoys a special place in the Maruti Suzuki NEXA portfolio and has been appreciated for its peppy drivability and spacious interiors. We have recognised an increasing preference for feature loaded cars that have SUV-like high seating position and dominant road presence. We are confident that the all new IGNIS with its SUV design and spacious interiors will appeal to the customers.”
The new 2020 Ignis incorporates SUV like styling elements that makes it appear more like an SUV than hatchback. It gets a new front grille with u-shaped motif, a new skid plate. At the back it receives minor updates in the form of a new roof spoiler, new taillamp clusters, a redesigned bumper with new skid plate and reflectors.
The interior on the other hand is the same as the current car, however there’s a new dual tone ivory colour scheme on the inside along with a Smartplay studio infortainment system. The new system incorporates cloud based connectivity and offers real time features like live traffic updates, voice recognition, driver seatbelts reminder and vehicle information.
Powering the Ignis is a BS6 compliant 1.2 litre petrol engine with 83ps and 130Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and AMT transmission.
Maruti Suzuki has further added two colour schemes to the Ignis colour scheme range which includes – Lucent orange and Turquoise blue. Also on offer are three new dual tone colour schemes known as – Lucent orange with black roof, Nexa blue with black roof and Nexa blue with silver roof.
Prices for the 2020 Ignis facelift however haven’t been revealed yet and should are expected to be announced soon.
