Skoda’s hottest bet the Octavia VRS has started reaching dealerships across India and has reached Goa too. This is surprising considering the current scenario of the pandemic caused lockdown across the country.
Relaunched at the 2020 Auto Expo, the motor show in Delhi, the Octavia VRS 245 we get in India is the Europe spec car and comes to our shores via the CBU route. Hence the sticker price tag of Rs 36 lakhs (ex showroom) is justifiable to the ever excited masses.
An important point to note here however is that the Octavia VRS 245 in question is however the last of the current generation model to be sold in the Indian market, because globally they have already received a new generation model which like every other Octavia will spawn the hot VRS version eventually.
The Octavia VRS 245 looks the same as it always did with sporty looks, classy interiors and loads of special RS tech. What‘s also no denial is that the sport sedan looks exactly the same as the Euro spec car. Nevertheless it gets the blacked out front grille with VRS logo, sportier front and rear bumpers, a bootlid spoiler and a surprisingly different 18-inch dual tone alloy wheels with red brake callipers.
The interior as always comes finished in premium and sporty black colour scheme with Alcantara leather wrapped seats. It also gets special red contrast stitching and RS logo enticed into the headrest, while a flat bottom steering wheel and gear knob with RS logos stamped into them is also part of the package. A new addition to the Octavia VRS 245 range in India is an all digital instrument cluster, a feature many customers have been wanting desperately.
The 2020 Octavia VRS comes with a 2.0 litre engine that makes 245PS and 370Nm of torque. It comes mated to a 7-speed DSG transmission and has a 0-100kmph dash in 6.6 seconds. Meanwhile exterior paint schemes available on the 2020 Octavia include Rallye green, Race blue, Corrida red, Magic black and Candy white.
Bookings for the Octavia VRS had begun on the 1st of March and while only 200 units are allocated for India, we hear there are still a handful of cars up for grabs which means several enthusiasts can get still get a chance of getting thiers booked really soon. We also know that of the total 200 examples, 4 cars are have arrived for delivery in Goa as well.
