BMW has launched the X4 in Goa priced at Rs 60.60 Lakhs (ex showroom). A first of the 12 model launches the automobile manufacturer has planned for this financial year.
Based on the CLAR architecture that directly results in weight saving of 50kgs, the X4 boasts of improved cabin space and legroom. Sold in India only in the M sport trim, the X4 gets the typical design cues like the double kidney grille, adaptive led headlights and electrically operated tailgate. However the M sport trim adds silver finish side body cladding, 19-inch machined alloy wheels and tons of M badges all over. The coupe like roofline though makes the X4 stunning to look at in profile but does eat into headroom at the rear; however the Pananormic sunroof does brighten things up.
The cabin comes finished in top notch materials, there’s a mix of genuine soft touch parts along with leather and dull allumium for the dashboard. The X4 gets the automatic air conditioning with 3-zone digital display, gesture control, multi-function M-leather steering wheel, 12.3 inch instrument display with individual character design for Drive modes along with BMW heads up display.
The I-Drive touchscreen inforrtainment system comes loaded with features like BMW apps, wireless Apple CarPlay and navigation system. It also gets bluetooth with handsfree audio streaming and USB connectivity. A 16-speaker Harman Kardon surround system with 12-speaker HI-FI loud speakers takes care of the music package.
Powering the BMW X4 are a range of engines, two in diesel and one in petrol. The XDrive20D produces 190hp @ 4000rpm and 400 Nm of torque. The XDrive 30D puts out 252bhp @ 5,200rpm and torque of 350 Nm. The petrol XDrive 30i on the other hand churns out 252hp and 350 Nm of torque.
All engines come mated to an 8-speed steptronic transmission along with all wheel drive that drives smoothly and distributes power to the front and rear wheel for maximum traction.
BMW has also added safely features such as 8-airbags, ABS, EBD, dynamic stability control, electronic parking brake with auto hold, ISOFIX child seat mounting and electronic vehicle immobilizer.
