Coastal Honda, the dealer partners for Honda cars in Goa have officially launched the new Civic in Goa at the sprawling new sales outlet at Panjim. The Civic now in its 10th generation has returned to the Indian market after a gap of 6 long years.

The new Civic measures 4656mm in length, 1799 in width and uses a wheelbase tracking 2700mm. The sedan can be had in 3 variants in petrol and two in diesel. Yes of course it does finally get a diesel heart under its hood. Boot space stands at 430 litres.

The latest iteration of the Civic may not have the wow factor that the original Civic had but the design will definitely guarantee a second look. The face wears the sculpted bonnet with a thick chrome grille upfront flanked by slim looking LED headlamps and daytime running lights. Moving to the side, you’ll notice the stylish looking 17-inch diamond cut alloy wheels and the slopping roofline that almost gives it a fastback like profile. The rear gets boomerang shaped taillamps with C-  shaped LED elements. It also gets faux air vents in the rear bumper and a bootlid lip spoiler as well.

The interior of the 2019 Civic offers a blend of a remarkably spacious interior complemented by a modern and expansive cockpit design. The dashboard sports full black treatment with plenty of soft touch materials. The centre console houses a 17.7cm touchscreen inforrtainment system that comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and the controls for the automatic climate control system. The high tech instrument cluster is fully digital and gets music display and call function integrated within the TFT screen which ensures that the driver doesn’t take his eyes off the wheel.

In terms of features, the Civic comes loaded with features such as full led headlights with auto function, side marker lamp, Anti pinch electric sunroof, 8-way adjustable driver seat, adjustable seatbelt height, steering moutned cruise control, remote engine starter, LED map and reading lights, interior ambient lighting, paddle shifters and dual zone climate control with display on panel and audio.

Honda has also engineered  lane watch technology  into the Civic that makes use of a left wing mirror mounted camera. it gets activated when the left side indicator is turned on, where-in the camera feeds the infotainment system with a live feed of what’s happening outside thus giving the driver a much better view than what would normally be viewed from a rear view mirror.
