Counto Motors the dealer partners for Mercedes Benz cars in Goa recently showcased the AMT GTR in Goa. The flagship sportscar was part of the EMototion tours wherein the AMG cars tour various parts of India
The AMT GTR looks unlike any Mercedes seen until now, the jaw dropping design looks out of the box with the low slung bonnet, large chrome front radiator grille and an aesthetically designed front bumper. Moving to the sides, the roof flows seamlessly to the rear in what looks like a classic fastback design. The side fender also houses the V8 Bi-turbo badging and forged 20-inch alloy wheels, while at the rear, the design signals a restless thrust with the superbly detailed taillights, titanium exhausts and double diffuser.
The interior hallmarks the AMG’s DNA with a sporty cockpit, and high quality materials finished off to exquisite standards. The AMG Performance steering wheel houses controls for the Command touchscreen system and telephony. While the centre console features an upwards rising flow and tappers towards the driver. The centre console holds various controls including the start/stop switch and Command touchscreen system.
The standard AMG Sport seats are wrapped in Nappa leather and Dinamica microfiber and underline the sporty looks of the interior and get AMG badges and integral resistant’s.
Under the hood is a V8 4.0 litre motor that produces a whooping 599bhp and 699 Nm of torque. The motor is mated to a 7-speed dual clutch automatic and can sprint from 0-100 kmph in 3.5 seconds with an electronically limited top speed of 318kmph. The sportscar also comes with various driving modes Comfort, Sport, Sport+ and Individual.
Priced at Rs 2.19 Crore (ex showroom) the AMT GTR isn’t affordable in any sense but makes for a perfect sportscar to drive to the track or have weekend fun.
