Datsun has launched the Redigo facelift in Goa priced at Rs 2.86 lakhs (ex showroom prices). The new Datsun Redigo facelift receives major exterior updates, a compressive interior update and BS6 petrol engines.
Talking about the design, the Redigo gets a major update to its design especially at the front; it now gets slimmer headlights flanked by a larger in size front grille with thick chrome surround. There’s also a new front bumper that now gets large L – shaped daytime running lights available only in top trims, while lower variants get a chrome strip.
The side profile carries on unchanged; however there are new wheel covers which resemble alloy wheels but aren’t and larger in size wing mirrors. The rear receives re profiled taillights and a minor redesign to the bumper.
The interior of the 2020 Datsun Redigo facelift has been fully overhauled and is a welcoming change. There’s an 8.0 inch touchscreen infotainment system that’s placed on a redesigned centre console and a new instrument cluster with blue and white backlit. Datsun has also added new seat upholstery with new tri arrow pattern that has also found its way into the door pads.
New when it comes to features in the facelifted Datsun Redigo are plenty, buyers now get LED daytime running lights, LED fog lights, internally adjustable wing mirrors, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay,
Mechanically though the Redigo remains the same with the same 0.8 and 1.0 litre engine options, however Datsun has tweaked both engines to bring them up to BS6 standards and increased power and torque figures in favour of better performance.
The 0.8 litre motor puts out 54ps at 5,600rpm and 72Nm of torque at 4,250rpm, while the 1.0 litre produces 68ps at 5,500rpm and 91Nm of torque at 4,250rpm. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual for both engines, while an AMT is limited to the more powerful 1.0 litre motor only.
The 2020 Datsun Redigo facelift has also got reverse parking camera and passenger side airbag. Otherwise it gets ABS with EBD, front seatbelt reminder and reverse parking sensors. Buyers can now choose between six exterior paint schemes which include Vivid blue, Bronze grey, Sandstone brown, Opal white. Ruby red and Crystal silver.
