The news of Datsun hard at work to soon bring a facelift for the Redigo was no secret to the audience out here. However after a few spy shots of the camaflouged car being tested on the roads surfaced online, Datsun has now released a teaser image partially revealing what to expect from the facelift once launched.

New for the 2020 Redigo, as can be seen from the teaser image reveals a heavily updated car. For starters it gets a new front grille that’s grown larger in size flanked by long horizontally placed daytime running lights and updated headlights.

The updated headlights are now thinner and could receive LED treatment, while a new side turn indicator is also visible in the image and could be present on the production car as well. Datsun could also give the updated Redigo updated front and rear bumpers along with new alloy wheels which however are not visible in the teaser image.

Datsun has not revealed any details on the interior of the Redigo facelift yet, but a heavily updated interior is on the expectation list. The dashboard could feature a new layout and even receive a touchscreen infortainment system to be offered in top trims atleast. More details on what will change in the interior should emerge closer to launch.

Mechanically the updated Redigo will be powered by an updated version of its current set of engines. Both the 0.8 and 1.0 litre motors will be BS6 compliant and deliver higher power and torque. Transmission options will remain unchanged with a 5-speed manual and AMT as before.

The Datsun Redigo facelift when launched will rival the Maruti Alto800 and S-Presso, Hyundai Santro and Renault Kwid.
