Goa, a tiny state on the map with a lot to offer, right from its rich culture, scenic coconut trees, sun-kissed beaches and susegad warmth of the locals. However the state does have a lot more than just its natural beauty as it also proves to be a great place for hosting automobile related events.
Having played host to the Vintage Car and Bike festival which itself has become an annual feature successfully. Many automobile enthusiasts, tourists, fans and classic car lovers being delighted by the sight of colourful Volkswagen cars humbling around the streets of Panjim.
The event was held last year as a small meet up but it happened to receive great response hence it will be held this year as well but on a larger scale. Around 70-75 classic VWs will be participating in the rally with most of the participants driving in from various parts of India said Ryan Braganca an official handling the event.
The event will be held on the 4th of November at the Panjim Gymkhana. The event will include a public car display and a rally. The rally will begin from the gymkhana and head to Abbe Faria statue from where it will move towards Miramar before culminating back at the Gymkhana.
Models participating in the event will include many rare models like the Volkswagen busses, beetles and other rare cars, almost every classic uptill 1990 is allowed in the event with the standout car being the street window beetle of which only 1 or 2 are existing in India today.
Volksweekend a unique event exclusive only to Volkswagen cars is set to be held on the 4th of November at Panjim gymkhana. The event will include a special rally beginning from the gymkhana and move towards the statue of Abbe Faria from where they rally will divert to Miramar and head back to Panjim gymkhana
