If you been an active participant to the content posted in our blog, you guys might have come across an article mentioning a CNG fuel pump coming up in Goa.

However despite a year passing by and the all the required equipment being installed at the pump, it’s yet to begin operations for reasons best known to the company. On the flipside, a reliable source has however informed Auto Goa that CNG dispensing operations could not start as there is an issue releated to the pricing due to implementation of green cess and awaited permission from its kundaim plant.

A handful of the automotive dealers do offer CNG as an option to petrol and diesel in their respective models. But these models are not on sale in Goa as there is no CNG pump present. We spoke to a few automotive dealers to gauge their reaction on CNG fuel pump starting in Goa.

Mr Akshay Tanwade Sales Manager for Alcon Hyundai said “its better, to replace standard fuel with CNG, as it is cost effective and environment friendly. However at the same time electric vehicles are the need of the hour.”

Anuj Talaulikar Marketing Manager for Volvo Eicher Commercial vehicles said,” CNG requirements in metro cities cannot be fulfilled even after so many years. There’s a huge shortage. So there’s no question about other cities coming up with CNG. Apart from that CNG vehicles are also regarded to be low powered and have the risk of explosion while refilling.

Saurab Dessai sales consultant from Durga Motors said, “CNG has already replaced petrol in, bigger cities like Delhi and Mumbai, but in Goa to implement it will take many years.

Shivanand General Manager said,” CNG is a better option over standard fuel as it gives better mileage however the issue in Goa is that the pipeline required for CNG to be filled is not available.”
