Sunday’s in Goa are commonly observed as a day of rest or a visit to the beach, but the Sunday dated 29th April 2018 was no different except the roads of Panjim City which were dominated by the roaring of beauties from the Yesteryears.
This roaring of the timeless beauties along the scenic streets of Panjim city were from participants of the 2nd Edition of the Vintage Car and Bike Rally which was flagged off by Honourable Chairman for Tourism Mr. Nilesh Cabral and Shri Menino D’Souza (Director for Tourism) along with the board of directors and dignitaries.
Leading the rally vehicles were a group of Harley Davidson Riders belonging to Harley Owners Group (H.O.G.) Goa Chapter. The rally vehicles made their way from Inox Courtyard to the famous Miramar Beach, Campal, back through Panjim city, to proceed towards Patto bridge, Divja Circle and back to Inox Courtyard where they remained on display until 6pm.
Like the event (1st edition) that was held in 2016, this years Vintage Car and Bike Rally too had a massive crowd of participants. There were almost 100 vintage cars, 90 motorcycles and scooters, with some participants actually making their way to Goa from Nagpur, Mumbai and Pune. Some of the Vintage Cars included Citroens, Volkswagen, Fiats and Cadillac, while the bikes on the other hand were BSA’s, Lambretta, Bajaj Cheetaks, Vijay Supers and Vespas.
The event continued to be a pleasant Sunday with hundreds of people and automobile crazy enthusiasts turned up despite the soaring heat to feast their eyes on their favourite vintage car and bikes. However, like all good things come to an end so did the Vintage Car and Bike Festival and the best were awarded prizes under the categories.
