Hero Moto Corp has quietly introduced the new Xtreme 200R in India. The bike is priced at Rs 88,000(Ex showroom)
First displayed at the 2016 Auto Expo in Delhi as a concept, the bike has taken a whole three years to hit the market. Hero has now quietly updated the prices for the bike on its website. The price for the bike which is Rs 88,000 is comparatively lower than its rivals.
Currently the Xtreme 200R is on sale only in the North Eastern states of India which include West Bengal, Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura, Assam, Mizoram and Meghalaya, while rest of the India will get the bike in a phased manner.
The Xtreme 200R is powered by a single cylinder 2 valve air cooled engine that makes 18.4 bhp and 17.1Nm torque the engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. Suspension duties are handled by 37mm telescopic front and 7-step adjustable monoshock rear suspension. Braking is taken care of by 276mm front disc and 220mm rear brakes with a single channel ABS. The bike rides on 17-inch alloy wheels shod in 130 section rear and 100 section front tyres.
Speaking of the competition the Hero Xtreme 200 takes on the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V, Suzuki Gixxer and Bajaj Pulsar 160 NS.
