The highly anticipated Husqvarna motorcycle brand has finally made its debut in the Indian market. The Sweden based automaker has launched two models – Svarpilen 250 and Vipitlen 250 at the India Bike Week 2019.
Launched in partnership with Bajaj KTM, the Husqvarna branded motorcycles (Svarpilen and Vipitlen) have been built and designed specifically for the Indian market. Both bikes also share the same basic retro design, circular headlight, compact fuel tank, LED lights at front and rear and use trellis frames. However the Svarpilen is more of a scrambler, while the Vipitlen is more of a café racer.
Powering the motorcycles though is a 248cc single cylinder engine that puts out 311hp at 9,000rpm and 24Nm of torque at 7,250rpm. Both motorcycles also come mated to 6–speed transmission.
Braking power is provided from Bybre four piston callipers with 300mm disc at front and a single calliper 230mm disc at the rear. The suspension unit compromises of 43mm upside down fork at the front and a monoshock at the rear.
