At a time when Hyundai is getting set to launch the much awaited hatchback, the internet has been buzzing with news revealing several design and feature highlights of the car.
According to a reliable source, Auto Goa has now learnt that apart from the tallboy design, the AH2 hatchback which will revive the Santro brand will sport a front grille which will be inspired from the one seen on the 2019 Elantra. Apart from the front grille, the 2018 Santro will also come with high set fog lamps, full wheel covers for mid variants and alloy wheels in top and i10 like B-pillar.
Keeping with Hyundai’s traditions, the AH2 will also feature packed with many first in segment like the rear A/C vents, 5 inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto among others. The tallboy design should also lead to liberating a lot of space on the inside with good headroom and legroom.
Engine options will most likely include a heavily reworked 1.1 litre motor that will come strapped to a 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox options right from launch.
Hyundai will be revealing the car to the media on the 9th of October followed by the launch on 23rd October which is when prices will be announced as well. However we expect Hyundai to price it close to the Rs 3-5 Lakhs price range, which will put it directly into Tata Tiago and Maruti Celerio territory.
