Hyundai launches Creta Sport Edition priced at Rs 12.78 lakhs

Haunted by how dense the compact SUV segment has got from the time it launched the Creta in the market. Korean car manufacturer, Hyundai has launched a new Sport edition Creta priced at Rs 12.78 lakhs (ex showroom prices).

The new Sport edition Creta comes with several cosmetic changes on the exterior and an exciting new range of features. It gets a darkened black chrome front grille, smoked bi-functional projector headlamps, rear roof spoiler, gloss black finish for the wing mirrors and new silver finish front and rear skid plates. A set of well designed silver finish roof rails and diamond cut alloy wheels wrapped in 215/60 tyres further accentuate the sporty look of the Creta Sport edition.

The cabin on the other hand comes finished in full black colour scheme and gets new front and rear silver air con vents, leather wrapped steering wheel with contrast stitching and silver garnish along with an electric sunroof. It also gets black seat fabric with Creta brand embossing and dual faux exhausts.

Since it’s based on the higher SX trim, the sport edition comes loaded to the gills with all the bells and features from the standard Creta SX such as wireless charging, dual airbags, ABS and 7.0 inch touchscreen system. But it does miss out on ventilated seats which are on offer on the Executive SX (O) trim.

Mechanically though it continues to be powered by the same 1.6 litre petrol and 1 diesel engines. The 1.6 litre petrol produces 125 bhp and 151 Nm of torque, while the 1.6 litre diesel 126 bhp and 260 Nm of torque. The smaller 89b hp 1.4 litre diesel isn’t on offer with the Sports edition. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual transmission as standard.

Buyers also have the option of choosing between a sleek Phantom black and Polar white with phantom black roof. The Hyundai Creta Sports edition will has a lot of rivals such as the Renault Duster, Nissan Kicks, MG Hector, Tata Harrier, Mahindra XUV500 and the upcoming Kia Seltos.
