Hyundai launches Tucson facelift

Hyundai has launched the new Tucson facelift in the Indian market priced at Rs lakhs (ex showroom prices). The new Tucson facelift gets cosmetic changes on the outside, inside along with BS6 spec petrol and diesel engines.

New on the 2020 Tucson on the outside is a larger cascading grille, updated projector LED headlamps with daytime running lights and redesigned front bumper and fog lamp housings. The side profile lies unchanged, while at the rear it gets restyled LED taillights and new twin exhausts for a sporty look. The 2020 Tucson facelift also rides on all new 18- inch alloy wheels.

The changes of the 2020 Tucson facelifts interior include a redesigned dashboard with soft touch leather treatment. On the equipment front it gets a floating style 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, premium black interior colour scheme, Panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, 8-way power  adjustable front passenger seat,

The 8-inch touchscreen gets Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and also the Korean automaker’s Blu Link connectivity. Hence there are a number of features such as Artificial intelligence, Vehicle management relationship management, Geographic information services, Alert and location based services. It also gets an advanced version of Infinity premium speakers for the audio needs.

Powering the automakers flagship SUV in the Indian market is a 2.0 litre petrol engine that makes 152PS and 19.6kgm of torque, while the diesel iteration produces 185PS and 40.8kgm of torque. Transmission options include a new 8–speed automatic gearbox

In terms of safety, the 2020 Tucson packs in 6-airbags, electronic stability control, downhill brake control, brake assist, ABS, front and rear parking sensors along with 70% high strength body.

The new Hyundai Tucson rivals the likes of the Jeep Compass, Kia Seltos, Tata Harrier, Skoda Karoq, Volkswagen T-ROC and MG Hector.
