Hyundai reveals new Santro ahead of 23rd October launch

After much hype and leaked news about Hyundai’s new family hatchback, the Korean car manufacturer has finally taken the wraps off the most anticipated car the new Santro.

The new hatchback has stayed true to the earlier reports of the car reviving the Santro brand in the Indian market. The pictures released by Hyundai have revealed a handsome looking car that is wrapped in modern styling and tallboy design. Some of the design highlights of the new Santo include cascade design front grille, swept back headlamps, Grand i10 like taillamps and large glass area.

Though Hyundai hasn’t revealed the interior yet, we can tell you that the cabin will come loaded with features many of which will be first in segment. Taking centre stage on the dashboard will be a 6.5 inch touchscreen infotainment system that itself will come loaded with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Mirror link and voice recognition. The touchscreen will also double up as a reverse parking camera as well. Additionally the new family car will also come with rear A/C vents for the rear passengers.

Powering the new Santro will be a 1.1 litre 4 cylinder petrol motor that will put out 68bhp and 99 Nm of torque. The car will also offer the Convience of a factory fitted CNG kit that will come strapped to the same 1.1 litre engine but deliver 59bhp and 84 Nm of torque.

Transmission options will include 5-speed manual and Smart Auto AMT. In petrol fuel option the car will deliver 20.13kmpl while the CNG will return 30.5kgm. Suspension units will consist of McPherson Strut with stabilizer bar upfront and torsion axle at the rear.

Bookings for the Santro will begin online from tomorrow onwards at Rs 11,000 with prices set to be announced on the 23rd of October 2018 which is when the car will be officially launched in India.
