Earlier rumoured to be called the Styx or QX1 as it was internally known. Korean car manufacturer Hyundai has announced that the up-coming sub compact SUV in its model range will be called “Venue”.

The Venue will be the company’s production version of Carlino and the QX1 concepts that seen at the 2016 and 2018 Delhi Auto Expo shows. The Venue will battle it out with the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon, Ford Ecosport and Mahindra XUV 3OO.

The automaker had earlier released a teaser video thus showcasing what the design of the production version could resemble for the first time. However the Venue is expected to get an upright SUV just like the Creta and a new cascade front grille. Also visible from the camaflouged car in the video are split headlamps with daytime running lights, roof rails, dual tone alloy wheels, LED taillamps and even a sunroof.

Though still under wraps, details on how the interior will look are sketchy. But we safely expect the interior to be smartly packaged despite its sub 4-metre length However on the flipside like most Hyundai’s the Venue will also come with a long feature list as well.

Powering the Venue will be a 1.0 litre three cylinder petrol and 1.4 litre diesel engines coupled to manual and automatic transmissions to be on offer. We also expect Hyundai to pay good attention to safety by offering good safety features as well.

The Hyundai Venue  is expected to make its world debut in April this year followed by the official launch in the Indian market by mid May this year.
