Hyundai India has been once again on a bar with new launches and model facelifts on the roll. This time it’s the Verna sedan that will be getting a facelift pretty soon with a market launch expected later this month.
After much speculation and rumours on which iteration of the Verna facelift would make it to the Indian market, the rumours have finally been put to rest with the release of the teaser images by Hyundai India itself
The model teased seems to pretty much be the Russian spec with the final design bearing close resemblance to its global counterpart. Tagged as adopting a design language reading “sensuous sportiness” the 2020 Verna’s exterior receives a new front grille that merges with the redesigned and now slimmer headlamps, a new front bumper, new alloy wheels, new LED effect taillamps and a revised rear bumper with chrome appliqué for the lower part of the bumper.
The interior though not revealed could include some deeper changes apart from the usual nip and tuck update seen in most facelifts. Expect the 2020 Verna facelift’s interior however to also pack in a digital instrument cluster and new touchscreen infortainment system apart from new feature additions.
Under the hood the 2020 Hyundai Verna facelift is confirmed to get new 1.0 litre turbo petrol will also be offered with a 7-speed dual clutch automatic, while in addition there will also be 1.5 litre petrol and diesel engines with 6-speed manual and automatics on offer.
Expect more details to be revealed when the car is launched in the market sometime later this month. Though there is the new generation Honda City also making its debut in the Indian market around the same time as well. The midsize sedan also takes on the Volkswagen Vento. Skoda Rapid, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz and Toyota Yaris in the segment.
