Commenting on the VENUE booking announcement, Mr Vikas Jain, National Sales Head, Hyundai Motor India Ltd. said, “Today we are set to mark a new beginning in the Indian Compact SUV segment. The Hyundai VENUE has already captured the customer’s Purchase of Interest and we are confident this SUV will set a new benchmark in Auto Industry. Under the hood, the Venue will source its power from two petrol and one diesel engine. First up is a 1.0 litre Kappa Turbo GDi motor that will produce 120 ps and 17.5 kgm of torque, while the 1.2 litre petrol puts out 83 PS and 11.7 kgm of torque. On the other hand the 1.4 litre Crdi diesel churns out 90 PS and 22.4 kgm of torque. Transmission options though limited to a 5-speed manual on the 1.2 petrol and 1.4 diesels, the 1.0 litre turbo GDi petrol will get a 7-speed dual clutch auto along with a manual transmission.

Hyundai has announced that the Venue will be sold in 4 trims, multiple powertrain options and 7 exciting paint schemes out of which three will be new – Denim Blue, Lava Orange and Deep Forest and 3 Dual Tone options. However things won’t be easy with the competition as the Venue is expected to kick up quite a storm with the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Mahindra XUV 3OO and Ford Ecosport in the prey.
