Hyundai Venue launched in Goa at Rs 6.50 Lakhs

After showcasing the compact SUV christened Venue to the world at the New York Auto Show and also back home on-board the cruise ship Angriya. The Korean car maker has now launched the Venue in Goa by the respective dealerships in Goa.

The highly anticipated SUV can be had in 4 variants – E, S, SX and SX optional and has dimensions measuring up at 1,605mm in height, 1,770mm in width, and 3,995 in length and uses a wheelbase of 2,500mm.

Speaking about its design, the Hyundai Venue is a handsome looking SUV with the right flavour and an upright stance. The nose receives the cascading grille upfront finished off in dark chrome along with high mounted turn indicators and a high set bonnet, while the bumper houses split type projector headlamps and daytime running lights surround along with a silver finish skid plate and slim air dam. The side profile though a reminiscent of the Creta gets functional yet strong roof rails and pronounced wheel arches with chunky looking 16-inch diamond cut alloy wheels wrapped in 250/15 section tyres. The rear of the Venue gets a clean and premium looking tailgate flanked small but well detailed crystal effect LED taillamps and bumper mounted reverse lights and skid plate.

On the inside the Venue gets a full black interior with subtle chrome inserts for an upmarket finish. The dashboard sports a futuristic design with chunky air con vents and a usable storage area infront of the passenger front seat; the centre console takes pride of holding a floating touchscreen infortainment system that’s loaded with features but more on that later. Overall space is great and even at the rear headroom is good even for tall adults. Boot space on the flipside stands at 350 litres.

The 8.4 inch touchscreen infortainment system packs in Android auto, Apple Car Play, video playing mode, navigation, voice recognition, IPS seamless connectivity and an Arkamys sound system. Besides the usual tech, the Venue also comes with Blue Link connectivity that employs an e-sim from Vodafone and allows users to remotely access climate control, door lock/Unlock, horn honk and light and remote vehicle status.

In terms of features, the Venue comes pretty loaded, with kit such as electrically operated wing mirrors and sunroof, wireless charger, Air purifier, Eco coating technology, rear A/C vents, cooled glovebox, reverse parking camera, height adjustable rear headrest, cruise control, front centre sliding armrest with storage and leather package for steering, gearbox and armrest.

Powering the Venue are a range of engines ranging between a 1.0 litre Turbo GDi, 1.2 litre petrol motor and a 1.4 litre one diesel. The 1.2 litre petrol produces 83ps of max power at 6,000rpm and 11.7kgm of torque at rpm, and the 1.4 litre Crdi diesel puts out 90 PS and 22.4 kgm of torque. Also on offer is a 1.0 litre Turbo GDI churns out 120 PS of power and 17.5 kgm of torque.

Transmission options include a 5-speed manual for the petrol 1.2 while the 1.0 litre Turbo GDI and 1.4 litre diesel get 6-speed manuals. Keeping its hold with not compromising on safety, Hyundai equipeied the Venue with 6-airbags, speed sensing door lock/unlock, ISOFIX child seat mounts, hill start assist, brake assist system, vehicle stability management, electronic stability program and electronic stability control. Blue Link also offers a host of safety features such as Emergency alerts, Medical and panic assistance, SOS Emergency assistance, Automatic crash notifications and roadside assistance.

Also part of the safety package will be Geo fence that will automatically alert by sending a text of the prescribed geographical location, time and stolen vehicle notification along with Vehicle immobilization among many other features.

Hyundai is also offering the Venue with 6 monotone colours and 3 dual tone shades. The monotone shades include Polar white, Typhoon silver, Stardust, Fiery red, Denim blue and Lava orange come with black single tone. The dual tone on the other hand include Denim blue with polar white roof, Polar black with phantom black roof with denim dual tone, while the Lava orange with phantom black roof/ Deep forest colour come khaki dual tone stitching for the seats.

The Hyundai Venue has already clocked 2k booking much before its launch which means it should have the competition consisting of Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Mahindra XUV 300, Ford Ecosport and Tata Nexon worried. The Korean car manufacturer is also offering a tempting 3 years roadside assistance and 3 years unlimited kilometres warranty on the Venue compact SUV.
