Jeep has released a new teaser image revealing the upcoming facelift for the Compass, launched in 2017, the Compass has been in the market for quite some time now and is well due for a facelift.
The teaser image reveals that the facelifted Compass is set to be unveiled on the 4th of June 2020 through a digital launch. Also seen in the teaser is the new front grille. It now gets a honeycomb design that makes it look more muscular than before.
The interior is under wraps, but judging by the suffix in the teaser image that reads “Connected by Freedom” we expect the American automaker to offer latest or upgraded connectivity tech and a new touchscreen infotainment system.
Powering the Compass in its current iteration is a 2.0 litre Multijet 2 diesel engine, it produces 170bhp and 350 Nm torque. A 1.4 litre Multiair petrol is also on offer with 161bhp and 250 Nm torque. Transmission options for either powertrain options include a 6-speed manual and 9-speed automatic.
However there is no clarity if these engines will continue to power the 2020 Compass or not and we expect some clarity to emerge once the vehicle is launched in the market.
Competition in the segment the Compass sits in has heated up over the past few months with the Volkswagen T-Roc, Skoda Karoq being new entrants in the segment while a facelifted Hyundai Tucson is expected to be launched soon as well.
