Mahindra and Mahindra were expected to display many new models at the ongoing 2020 Auto Expo in Delhi. However while that was a disappointment, the Funster concept grabbed a lot of attention from the crowd and media respectively.
The Funster concept is a two door concept that receives a hardtop convertible roof has scissor doors and comes powered by an electric motor. Mahindra terms the Funster concept as an object of desire that comes with a playful convertible mode.
A closer look at the Funster concept reveals sleek LED headlamps and Mahindra’s slotted front grille along with new fog lamp housings which also get daytime running lights strips. The interior comes with a dual screens setup (a feature that is slowly becoming common these days) while overall the cabin has a very cockpit like layout.
Powering the Funster concept is a 59.2kw battery that puts out 313hp and can sprint from 0-100kmph in 5- seconds with top speed limited to 200 kmph. The claimed range however is 520kms on a single charge.
No official word yet on whether the Funster concept will make it to production or not but expect much of the design cues to trickle down to the upcoming and future Mahindra models. Mahindra has the next generation XUV 5OO, Scorpio, Bolero and even the Thar scheduled for launch over the period of 2020.
