Mahindra has announced the launch of a new 8-seater option for the newly introduced Marazzo MPV. Available strictly as a 7-seater option until now, the newly introduced variant will retail for Rs 8,000.
Designed and developed at Mahindra’s North American Technical Centre, the Research centre in Chennai along with Mahindra’s own design studio and also the legendary design house Pinifarnia. The Marazzo has been enginerired to offer luxurious space with a smooth ride and agile handling.
According to Veejay Nakra, Chief of Sales and Marketing – Automotive Division, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., “The globally engineered Marazzo has generated a lot of interest among buyers. This is due to its unique architecture that offers the best of both worlds in the form of car-like ride and handling coupled with the toughness and stability of a body-on-frame construction. The inclusion of the 8-seater option on the top-end M8 variant will further widen the Marazzo’s appeal.”
The new 8-seater configuration has been made possible by replacing the middle row’s captain seats to bench seats to accommodate the extra passenger
Features and technology, the M8 variant of the Marazzo include daytime running lights, 17-inch alloy wheels, faux leather seats, 7-inch touchscreen inforrtainment system with Capsense and Haptics technology, Reverse parking camera with dynamic guidelines, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The top end trim also packs in window mounted sunshades for second row passengers.
Powering the Marazzo under its hood is a 4-cylinder 1.5 litre diesel engine that produces 120bhp and 300 Nm of torque. Transmission options are limited to just a 6-speed manual for now, with automatic making it at a later stage.
The Marazzo is also one of the safest MPVs around, titled with four stars safety rating for 4 star adult rating and 3 stars in child protection safety. The Mahindra Marazzo goes up against its main rival in the segment the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga.
