Mahindra has finally added the long awaited automatic transmission in the XUV 300. The transmission in question is an AMT and can be had with a diesel engine only.
Buyers can choose from 3 colours – Red rage, Aquamarine and Pearl white. Also worth noting is that the AMT is available only in the top end W8 and W8 (optional) trims and hence it comes fully loaded with all the bells and whistles form its manual counterpart. However it misses out on auto start/stop fuel saving tech.
The XUV300 auto shift is equipped with the following intelligent features:
Auto and Manual Mode: Available in two modes, Auto mode boosts fuel efficiency and drivability while manual mode provides exhilarating performance.
Vehicle Creep: The vehicle can move without throttle input in both first and reverse gear, making driving easy in congested city traffic.
Electronic Stability Control: The XUV300 comes with Hill Start Assist technology to prevent roll-back when driving on a hill or moving up an incline.
Down-hill, Kick-down Shifts & Anti-engine Stall: Gear shifts are automatically optimized with features to provide optimum power/torque output during overtaking or for quick acceleration.
Drive and Reverse Lock Out: This safety feature prevents sudden shifts between reverse and drive modes, unless the speed drops to less than 5 kmph.
Creep disable on Door Opening: This safety feature prevents the vehicle from moving if the doors are open.
Driver Information System with Gear Display: Important alerts and information about the vehicle, such as the current gear, driving mode etc., are available on the Driver Information System.
Powering the Compact SUV is a 1.5 litre diesel motor churning out 115 bhp and 300 Nm of torque and comes mated to a 6-speed manual and the newly launched AMT transmission.
On the safety front it gets 7- airbags, front parking sensors, Electronic stability program with roll over mitigation, hill start assist, tyre pressure and monitoring system and ISOFIX child safety mounts. ABS with EBD and seatbelt reminder for all seat are standard offering.
In addition it also comes with hill hold assist, creep mode and steering drive modes such as Comfort, Sport and Normal for ease of driving.
