It’s been months that we have been waiting for the new Ciaz; however leaked pics of the new Ciaz at the company’s Haryana stockyard by Gaddiwaadi and AutoX have revealed a lot about the new sedan.
The Ciaz facelift will get a new front end that includes a new bonnet, larger front grille with chrome tip, redesigned led headlamps with a distinctive eyebrow, and new bumpers with chrome surround for fog lamp housing. The side profile reveals the new alloy wheels, while at the rear the changes are not too drastic but we expect minor modifications to the taillamps and bumper.
At the time when the leaked pics of the exterior of the Ciaz were doing rounds on the internet, a new set of pics revealing the interior were also came up online and going by the pics the dashboard design carries on unchanged but now gets new wood trim for a richer feel. The instrument cluster is also new and the new blue highlight for the dials as well as the inclusion of the Auto start/stop button which indicates that the sedan is a hybrid.
Mechanical updates will find their way into the new Ciaz as well. A new 1.5 litre petrol engine is expected to make its debut along with updated power and torque figures and mild hybrid system. The new 1.5 litre motor will replace the 1.4 litre unit on the outgoing car.
The 2018 Ciaz will also sport cruise control, a feature most buyers prefer on a car this size. Maruti Suzuki could also use the Ciaz facelift to introduce the new 6-speed manual gearbox a feature its future models are expected to have. When launched in the Indian market this August, the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz will take on its rivals with a strong comeback and stiff competition.
