Maruti Suzuki Arena had launched the facelifted Dzire in the Indian market at a price tag of Rs 5.89 lakhs (ex showroom) in April this year. However due to the current pandemic COVID-19 and lockdown situation the car wasn’t available neither at dealerships nor for a preview to the media.
A month and a half, the cars have finally begun arriving at dealerships across the country, as relaxations from the lockdown have eased and goods transport have begun with precautions.
The new 2020 Dzire facelift gets a few cosmetic updates to keep it fresh in the market, it receives a new front grille that has grown larger in size and a mildly updated front bumper with new fog lamp housings and enhanced chrome touches.
The interior on the other hand receives minor updates as well, as it gets a new dual tone seat upholstery and faux wood insert for the dashboard. In terms of features there’s cruise control and a TFT display for the MID computer in the instrument cluster. Also new is the touchscreen infortainment system that now packs in the company’s latest Smartplay studio with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Powering the 2020 version of the Dzire is a 1.2 dual-VVT petrol motor which is now the sole engine on offer as the diesel has been discontinued. In BS6 era, it produces 90hp and 113Nm of torque and offers the choice of a 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox options. Mileage conscious buyers will appreciate the compact sedans 23.26kmpl for manual and 24.12kmpl for AMT ratings which are under ARAI.
The Maruti Suzuki Dzire rivals the Ford Aspire, Hyundai Aura, Tata Tigor and Honda Amaze. Also now part of the package are two new paint schemes – Phoenix Red and Premium silver.
