Apart from getting set for a spectacular show at the upcoming 2020 Delhi Auto Expo, India’s largest automaker Maruti Suzuki is also gearing up to soon launch a facelift for the Ignis hatchback.
Launched way back in 2017, the Ignis has been present in the market for some time now during which competition has grown rapidly. However for 2020, the Ignis will receive its first serious facelift ever since launch.
Shedding light on this new development is images of the updated Ignis that have been leaked online by GaddiWaddi.com. The leaked images also appear to have been taken at a plant which suggests that production has begun at the automakers plant.
Coming to the design changes, the 2020 Ignis gets many changes which are rather cosmetic to keep things fresh. Upfront it ditches the honeycomb front grille for new chrome wrapped U-shaped tooted grille that is further complimented by a new front bumper with redesigned front scuff plate and fog lamp housings.

The side profile however remains the same but we do expect a set of updated alloy wheels to appear on the car. The rear gets minimal changes with minor changes done to the bumper along with new reflectors. New on the 2020 Ignis interior too is expected to get redesigned bits and updates however details are scarce at the moment.
Powering the funky looking hatchback is a 1.2 litre petrol engine that will be carried forward in BS6 spec along with higher power and torque output figures. Transmission options too will include 5-speed manual and AMT that will be carried over from the outgoing car.
Speaking of the completion, the 2020 Ignis will continue to rival the likes of the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, Ford Figo and Mahindra KUV 1OO. Prices for the updated hatchback should move to a higher side, but we will get the real deal when the car is launched soon enough, Stay tuned.
