Fighting to meet the deadline for BS6 vehicles set to go live soon, India’s largest car manufacturer has launched three BS6 ready vehicles in the country. The new BS6 ready vehicles include the Waganor, Swift and Dzire which have been launched at marginal price hikes depending on the model.
Maruti Suzuki has also updated the safety kit in the cars to meet stricter safety norms set to go live in April 1st 2020 and July 1st 2019. The new safety tech on offer includes dual airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, high speed alert and driver as well as front passenger seatbelt reminder all of which are offered as standard on the cars.
All the three cars are powered by the same 1.2 litre 82bhp petrol motor and 115 Nm of torque, with transmission options being a 5-speed manual and AMT automatic. Maruti Suzuki has not updated the diesel motors in the Dzire and Swift as the automaker is set to discontinue the same by April 2020. Maruti Suzuki is also testing the Alto800 and Ciaz sedan for BS6 state of tune which will be on sale soon.
