Maruti Suzuki launched the new generation Ertiga a year back, the MPV moved to a premium segment with comfort and styling offered being a notches higher. However the homegrown car manufacturer has now addressed the needs of the fleet and taxi operators by launching a taxi specific Ertiga Tour M
Priced at Rs 8 lakhs (ex showroom prices) Tour M spec Ertiga is only available on the Vxi trim unlike earlier Tour cars where the car would be completely stripped down to the base trim.
The popular people mover is powered by a sole 1.5 litre petrol engine that produces 90 PS and 225 Nm of torque with a 5-speed transmission as standard. Maruti Suzuki has also strapped the 1.5 litre motor to a smart hybrid SHVS system that boosts fuel efficiency.
Features on offer on the Ertiga Tour M include body coloured front and rear bumpers and outside wing mirrors with electric adjust, bluetooth enabled audio system, coloured TFT system and rear A/C vents. In terms of paying attention to safety the Ertiga Tour M receives ABS, dual airbags, seatbelt warning, 80kmph top speed limiter and reverse parking sensors.
The addition of a well kitted Ertiga Tour M is sure to put a dent in the sales of the Mahindra Marazzo and Renault Lodgy.
