Maruti Suzuki launches Dzire facelift

Maruti Suzuki Arena has launched the facelifted Dzire in the Indian market at a price tag of Rs 5.89 lakhs (ex showroom). Regarded as India’s bestselling sedan; the Dzire has also gained more features along with an upmarket look.

New to the Dzire’s exteriors for 2020 are a new front grille and a new front bumper with enhanced chrome accents. Otherwise the design of the car stays pretty much the same. The interior too stays the same but benefits from a new faux wood insert and dual tone seat upholstery.

Maruti Suzuki has also added new features such as Cruise control, TFT display for the MID screen in the instrument panel and Maruti Suzuki’s latest Smartplay studio infortainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support. However safety tech such as Hill hold assist and Electric stability program or ESC is offered only on the AMT variant.

Mechanically there are no changes to the sedan’s engine line-up however the diesel motor has been discontinued altogether. Buyers can now only get a 1.2 litre dual VVT petrol motor with idle start/stop. It produces 90hp and 113Nm of torque with transmission options ranging from a 5-speed manual and AMT. The petrol manual delivers 23.26kmpl, while the AGS delivers 24.12kmpl efficiency.

Talking about competition, the Dzire facelift competes with the Ford Aspire, Hyundai Aura, Tata Tigor and Honda Amaze. In addition to the exciting colour options offered, the 2020 Dzire will be available in two new rich and premium colours, Premium Silver and Phoenix Red
