Maruti Suzuki has officially revealed the interiors of the S-Presso small car ahead of the launch on 30th September. The exterior of the car had earlier leaked online giving a firsthand look at how the final car would appear.

The dashboard borrows heavily from the Suzuki S concept shown at the Auto Expo in Delhi. Hence the dashboard makes use of funky multi-layered elements and also gets colour coded additions for the side A/C vents and central unit. Speaking of which the S-Presso gets a large central unit that houses the digital speedometer and a 7.0 inch touchscreen infortainment system.

The infortainment system gets the latest Smartplay studio software and should get Android Auto and Apple CarPlay as well. Also visible is the new steering wheel that gets steering mounted audio and telephony controls along with a recess for storing items and a pretty functional glovebox. Maruti has also played safe by providing power window at the front only, while the rear is manually operated.

Though it is difficult to judge from the images, it is evident that space and legroom in particular has been a prime focus for the automaker. The space at the front and rear seem to be good enough and even the central tunnel seems to have been well shaped thus allowing a third passenger to fit in without much hassle. However that can only be proved when put to the test once the car launches,

Boot space is another area of focus by the country’s largest automaker, as the image released has shown the quantity of luggage that can fit in the boot. A large suitcase along with a medium sized suitcase, some soft bags, a guitar and a football have been stored in the boot without much of a squeeze, however the loading lip thus appear to be on the higher side.

The S-Presso as reported earlier will get an SUV inspired design with an upright stance and squared off bonnet. The Vitara Brezza inspired grille, side body cladding, large windows and high ground clearance are some of the design bits that scream SUV in its essence. Also part of the package are dual airbags along with 10 other safety features and kit on offer as reported by the company on its website.

Mechanically the S-Presso will come powered by the K10 petrol motor that will be BS6 from the first day and will produce 50kw of power at 5500rpm and will come mated to a 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox.

With the days of the launch drawing near, the S-Presso will soon be launched. However pricing could very well stay in the Rs 3.50 to 5lakhs price range, competition for the S-Presso will come from the Renault Kwid and Datsun Redigo and Go hatchback.
