Maruti Suzuki’s new Swift has just hit 1 Lakh units in India, and has become the quickest car in India to reach the milestone this fast. Launched at the 2018 Auto Expo, the new Swift has just been in the market for 145 days and the popular model has already scaled new heights.
Maruti Suzuki also crossed the 20 million unit milestone recently and incidentally that car was also the third generation Swift. Launched originally in 2005 the model has crossed 1.89 million units spread across the three generations sold in India.

Based on the new Heartect platform, the new Maruti Swift gets radical sharp styling; the car gets LED daytime running lights and projector lamps. The interiors are spacious ad a step up from the outgoing car. The Swift draws its power from a 1.2 Litre 4 cylinder petrol engine which produces 82 bhp and 113 nm torque. The 1.3 DDIS three cylinder motor churns out 74 bhp and 190nm torque. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual/5-speed AMT gearbox.
