Maruti Suzuki has unveiled the new 2020 Vitara Brezza petrol at the ongoing 2020 Auto Expo in Delhi. Interestingly the original debut of the Vitara Brezza was also at the Auto Expo way back in 2016.

Being in the market for almost 4 years now, the Vitara Brezza receives minor cosmetic updates which should help keep things fresh in the market for the product. The face has been redesigned and gets new projector LED headlamps flanked by a shiny 4-slot chrome strip that aims to be a single piece element combined with headlights of the car. The front bumper is new too and gets larger restyled fog lamp housings, a new bull bar and new skid plates.

The side profile remains more or less identical to the current car save for new 16-inch diamond cut alloy wheels, while the rear also gets LED treatment for the taillamps. The interior also gets minor updates in the form of an all black colour scheme, new upholstery and a 7.0 inch Smartplay studio infortainment system, while the rest of the cabin is the same.

Maruti Suzuki has also introduced two new colour schemes – Torque blue and sizzling red, while there are also three new dual tone colour options such as Sizzling red and Torque blue with midnight black along with Granite grey with Autumn orange roof.

Powering the SUV is 1.5 litre petrol motor with Smart Hybrid tech, it makes 77kw at 6000 rpm and 138 Nm of torque at 4400rpm and comes mated to a 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic gearbox. Not so surprising but unexpected as well is the fact that the Smart hybrid tech can only be had in the automatic version only.

The manual gearbox returns 17.03kmpl and the automatic delivers 18.76 kmpl. The 1.3 litre diesel however has officially been axed from the line-up and the 2020 Vitara Brezza will be sold as a petrol only model from now onwards.

As many of you might have guessed the increase in engine capacity which has now become a 1.5 litre unit will not avail tax cut benefits. This also means prices could move upwards from the current scenario; however prices for the 2020 Vitara Brezza petrol haven’t been announced yet.
