Maruti Suzuki XL6 fully leaked ahead of launch in August

Maruti Suzuki is almost set to launch a new model in the Indian market; however the new model has been fully leaked by Gaddiwadi.com thus giving us a firsthand look at the design of the new up-coming model ahead of its launch next month.

The XL6 is based on the popular Ertiga MPV and will share its basic stiloute with the same. However as seen from the leaked images the face is all new, it gets a flatter bonnet design, honeycomb grille with chrome strip that runs into the slimmer looking headlamps which also get LED daytime running lights as well. The bumper is new as well and it gets a thin air dam and small fog lamps placed low along with a skid plate. Other key differentiators include body cladding, skid plates, black alloy wheels, black wing mirrors and silver finish roof rails.

A noteworthy mention here and clearly visible to the naked eye is the Nexa badging at the back of the car, thus confirming that the vehicle will be sold under the Nexa umbrella and not from Arena from where the Ertiga the car it is based on is sold from.

The interior will share most of its components and overall dashboard design with that from the Ertiga; however the biggest change could be an added touch of a more premium cabin and individual captain seats in the middle row along with a bench at the rear. This layout is expected to make the XL6 a pure 6-seater and will be positioned as a more premium offering over the Ertiga.

Mechanically though not confirmed, we expect the YL6 to come powered by a petrol engine only. A safe verdict going by Maruti Suzuki’s decision to discontinue diesel engines from its portfolio from 2020, rumours have also spread that the petrol motor could be BS6 compliant. However while power, torque and economy figures remain under wraps, the presence of a blue badge on the boot indicates that it will come with SHVS or smart hybrid technology as well.
