MG motors is another automaker who has witnessed overwhelming response in the Indian market. The response was so phenomenal that MG had even to shut the doors to accepting bookings in order to cater to the huge backlog that wasn’t showing signs of stopping anytime soon.

However the second round has seen around 8,000+ fresh bookings make it to the order books. Earlier MG recorded a staggering 28,000 bookings for the Hector from across the country. It has also been stated that almost 300 bookings have been received in Goa since launch and 112+ bookings in the second round according to the dealer.

The Hector also commands a waiting period of almost 6 months depending on the variant, while in Goa it commands waiting period of 2 -3 months trim level wise. The MG Hector is built at the company’s plant in Halol Gujarat that has an installed capacity of 84,000 units that could be expanded in the future.

MG has also recently released the first over the air update for the SUV’s famed 10.24 inch touchscreen infortainment system. The updates brought the much needed Apple CarPlay to the Hector’s system, thus allowing IOS users an easy access and connectivity to the system. This update however doesn’t require its owners to bring their car to the MG showroom or service centre as it can be easily downloaded through the embedded sim technology.

Competition for the MG Hector comes from the Tata Harrier, Hyundai Creta, Mahindra XUV500 and Kia Seltos.
