MG has taken the wraps off the new Hector plus at the ongoing 2020 Auto Expo in Delhi. New on the 2020 Hector plus gets different styling along with six/seven seating options.

The Hector plus is based on the standard Hector SUV on sale in the Indian market but gets its own styling elements to help differentiate it from the 5-seat version. It gets new triangle like elements for the daytime running lights and headlamp cluster, while a redesigned front grille and tweaked taillamp clusters and a slight increase in the length of the car are also part of the package. Also worth noting is the omission of the connected light bar and reflector strips which aren’t present on the Hector plus.

The interior of the car hasn’t’ been revealed yet, but the car is expected to get the same dashboard layout with the only change being the addition of a panoramic sunroof and three rows of seating with six and seven seating options. The six seater version comes with captain seats on the last two rows, while the seven seater version comes with captain in the middle and a beach at the last row.

Powering the Hector plus however will likely be the same set of engines that power the standard Hector on sale currently. The options range from a 1.5 litre petrol hybrid and a 1.5 litre turbo petrol, while transmission options include 6-speed manual and 7-speed DCT automatic.

In terms of competition the Hector plus will mostly rival the Tata Gravitas among other upcoming 7-seaters in the segment.
