Morris Garages has finally launched its first product for the Indian market the Hector priced at Rs lakhs (ex showroom prices).The MG Hector is offered in two engine and transmission options and four variants which include style, sharp, super and Smart.
The engine options on the other hand include 1.5 litre petrol hybrid and a 2.0 litre diesel motor along with manual and automatic transmissions. The 1.5 litre petrol produces 141bhp and 250 Nm of torque and comes mated to a 6-speed manual or DCT automatic transmission, while the 2.0 litre diesel churns out 170 bhp and 350 Nm of torque and comes mated to a manual transmission.
MG has also loaded the Hector with features like a panoramic sunroof, automatic climate control, auto wipers, heated wing mirrors, height adjustable and powered tailgate, 8-colour ambient lighting, keyless entry and go, reclining second row, powered driving and co-driver seat, 360 degree reversing camera, 8-speaker infinity sound system and 60:40 split rear seats.
The much touted embedded sim enabled connected car technology is only on offer with the higher trims compromising of. Paired to an I-smart application users can control a host of in-car functions remotely such as opening and closing the sunroof, turning on and off the climate control, audio system and a whole load more. Whats even better is many of the features can also be accessed through voice recognition that has been tested rigorously to deliver the best experience.
MG is also offering best in class 5 years unlimited kilometres mantainence and 5 years unlimited kilometres roadside assistance along with competitively priced mantainence packages known as Classic, Classic360, Premium and Premium360.
The MG Hector goes head on against the up-coming Kia Seltos, XUV500, Tata Harrier and the Jeep Compass.
