Morris Garages is getting set to launch its second product in the Indian market after the Hector. Interestingly the second model slated to hit Indian shores is also an SUV, actually an all electric SUV.
The ZS EV will be manufactured at the automakers Halol plant and will be initially sold only in five cities. The list includes Mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi-NCR, Ahmadabad had and Hyderabad. It is important to note that the ZS EV has only been unveiled for now, while the market launch will happen sometime in January 2020.
The ZS EV looks more crossover than SUV in profile, upfront it gets chrome surrounded diamond studded grille along with large elongated sweptback LED headlamps. It also gets a large panoramic sunroof, stylish alloy wheels, functional roof rails and large combination taillamps.

The interior of the ZS EV will have space as its main focus with plenty of space in the cabin and a relatively flat floor at the back. It is also expected to come finished in top notch materials and full black treatment. The touchscreen infortainment system has been updated and comes with the latest tech like i-smart, embedded sim for connectivity, voice assist among others. Expect more details to emerge once the car is launched in the market.
Powering the car is an IP-67 rated lithium ion battery pack said to churn out 143hp and 353Nm of torque. The liquid cooled motor will offer 335 kms driving range and can sprint from 0-100kmph in 8.5 seconds.

Charing power for the ZS EV will come from multiple charging options; however the most prominent will be the 50kw DC charger that will juice up to 80 percent in 40 mins and a 7kw standard charger that will also juice up to 80 percent in seven hours.
The ZS EV will come to India early January, however being a compact SUV in form; it will take on the Hyundai Kona Electric which is the only other EV on sale currently in that segment.
