New 2020 Honda Jazz launched at Rs 7.58 lakhs

Honda has been long running the Jazz hatchback without any update of any sort in the Indian market. However during the transition from BS4 to BS6, the automaker decided to do just that.

What’s surprising however is that the changes on the outside of the new Jazz are minimal and not really substantial as one may have taught. The changes in Honda’s sole hatchback include a new front grille finished in gloss black, mildly restyled front and rear bumpers and full LED lighting and that’s just about it. So you get LED headlights, LED daytime running lights, LED fog lights and LED taillamps.

The interior too doesn’t get too many changes in terms of its overall appearance, however the automaker has introduced a new electric sunroof which is a segment first, while the rest of the features are the same as the BS4 version

Mechiacally the 2020 Jazz will come powered by the same 1.2 litre petrol engine with 90hp and Nm of torque; however its now confronts to BS6 standards and can be had with either a 5-speed manual or a CVT transmission with paddle shifters. The 1.5 litre diesel has been discontinued altogether from the Jazz line-up, with the reason cited as poor demand as per Honda Car India.

Talking about competition, the 2020 Honda Jazz goes up against the likes of the Tata Altroz, Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Toyota Glanza, Volkswagen Polo, Ford Figo and the upcoming new 3rd generation Hyundai i20.
