The Mahindra Thar has been long undergoing various test and trials in various conditions; however it finally seems that the vehicle is ready for launch with a leaked document mentioning an online unveil on 15th August 2020.

Credits to the_spy_autonews who have come across a document mentioning about the planned activity with the much anticipated product. Hence while we don’t have any clarity on when the product will launch, an unveil can be confirmed without any further doubt.

The new generation Thar is expected to have a new design language that will be aggressive, modern and more rugged than the one it replaces. Though the next gen Thar will carry on with the same boxy SUV shape it is famous for, a forward facing third row will be on offer for the first time when launched.

Leaked out of older spy shots are various design elements such as circular daytime running lights, LED taillights, rear mounted spare wheel. Other changes include more rigid front and rear bumpers that will be strong and have a smoother surface to help it comply with the pedestrian safety norms and a long list of safety features as well.

The interior of the 2020 Thar will further move upmarket with a redesigned dashboard and better material quality. Features such as touchscreen infotainment system, climate control and a whole load more could be offered. More such details should come to press once the launch date draws closer.

Power for the highly awaited 2020 next gen Thar is expected to come from petrol and not a diesel motor. The petrol engine will be a 2.0 litre turbo petrol motor good enough to produce 140hp and come mated to a 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions.

The 2020 Thar when it comes to India will rival the new Force Gurkha as it only rival in the country.
