The Nissan X-trail is a popular SUV in the International markets and while the current and the previous generation never made to India, it was on sale in India once upon a time. However images of the next generation X-trail have leaked online giving a fair look at the production ready car. The new 2021 Nissan X-trail is now in its third generation and seeks a lot of design inspiration from the recently launched Juke.

However the new Nissan X-trail gets a flat high bonnet dominated by a thick honeycomb v-motion grille with thick chrome surround. The split headlamp setup makes its way to the X-trail as well, however the angular setup for the daytime running lights and vertical layout for the headlight together with a sharp design for the ait inlets does give the car some exclusivity. The bumper gets a dual tone finish with a blacked out part and a meaty skid plate. The rear of the car however remains identical to the car it replaces save for a revised bumper and skid plate.

The interior has also been heavily worked on with an all new dashboard and improved material quality. The dashboard now gets a new digital instrument cluster along with a larger touchscreen that is now a free standing unit. In terms of features it gets a panoramic sunroof, push button start/stop, paddle shifters and wireless charging, navigation and much more.

No details on the engine have been revealed yet but we expect the 2021 X-trail to employ a more powerful motor to be offered in petrol and diesel engine options. The sad news is there is no news of the X-trail coming to India anytime soon, however if it does come here, we expect it to rival the Honda CR-V, Toyota Fortuner, Skoda Kodiaq among others.

Untill than Nissan is gearing up to bring the Magnate compact SUV to the Indian market soon. Do let us know what are your views of the new X-trail and Nissan should bring it to India in the comments section below.
