Kia’s Carnival may have just made debut in the Indian market at this year’s Auto Expo in February, however globally the new generation model has just been released through pictures released by the automaker.

The all new Kia Carnival has moved a whole dimension ahead in its design that won’t be wrong if mistaken for an SUV, that’s because the new Carnival has got butch and squared out in its profile. The face now has a flat bonnet along with a large tiger nose with spindle like  grille flanked by Range Rover Velar inspired slim LED headlights with daytime running lights. The bumper too has gained more muscle for the fog lamp housings and a thick skid plate.

The side profile shows off the increase in wheelbase thus hinting at increased space on the inside. There’s also a nicely executed character line that starts from the headlights and runs all the way into the rear along with thick chrome finish for the c-pillar.

The interesting thing is that the chrome finish becomes thin and runs across the rear all the way to the other side of the car. The rear as we see has slim elongated taillights that are connected via a light bar along with a roof spoiler and a skid plate. The 2021 Kia Carnival rides on 19-inch alloy wheels.

The Kia Carnival for 2021 has its interior and cabin still under wraps but considering the current spec on sale in India already comes loaded with luxury, technology and features. We can clearly expect the new fourth generation model to have an even more pampering interior along with more features. Seating options will be in variety like before, however the real deal will only be revealed once the automaker releases more details of the new Carnival.

Engine options are scarce too, but Kia is expected to release details closer to the models international launch. Currently the Carnival comes powered by a 2.2 litre diesel engine under the hood; it makes about 200hp and 400Nm of torque and comes mated to an 8-speed steptronic transmission.

The sad bit is that the new fourth generation Kia Carnival isn’t likely to come to Indian shores anytime soon with the closest launch date predicted to be tentatively around end 2022 or early 2023.
