Maruti Suzuki’s Swift has been a popular choice for many in the market, the sporty looks, spacious interiors and frugal engines make it a great offering in the segment. However its been too long in the tooth and needed a fresh facelift to keep it going.
The 2020 Maruti Suzuki Swift facelift has been officially revealed in Japanese markets, In its facelifted avtaar, the car has got minor updates to the exterior and interior while the engine options remain unchanged.
New on the 2020 Swift facelift’s exterior is a new front grille that now gets a honeycomb design with a silver slat flanked by restyled headlights and a midly updated front bumper. At the rear, there’s a minor update to the bumper as well as the taillights. Also new is the alloy wheel designs and new dual tone paint finish options.
The interior once again has got a minor update with only the seat upholstety and fabric being the new addiitons. Maruti Suzuki is also now offering paddle shifters and a 360 degree rear view camera as part of the features list, however it remains to be seen if the said features make it to the India spec car when it arrives.
Overseas the Swift is powered by a range of engines in mild hybrid and petrol motors, however back home the popular hatchback will be powered by the same BS6 1.2 litre petrol engine. Power and torque figueres could be revised for better performance, while transmission options, a 5-speed manual and AMT will remain the same.
The Maruti Suzuki Swit takes on the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, Tata Tiago, and Ford Figo, the advant of the faclelifted Swift could give its competition a tougher time ahead.
