Porsche presents its future vision at the Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Media Night

Porsche recently presented its future vision in the Indian market with a presentation of its stragery 2025. The German automaker took full advantage of the Skoda Volkswagen media night to showcase its future plans.

Speaking at the event, Pavan Shetty, Director of Porsche India, said: “We are on the cusp of an exciting electrified future that begins right now, this year with the arrival of Taycan, a zero-emission car that delivers the acceleration of the 911 GT2 RS but in a full-sized, sleek, saloon car body. It’s proof of how Porsche is meeting the challenges of creating a sustainable future without diluting its history and core values as the world’s leading manufacturer of luxury sports cars.” “Our 2019 sales showed that even in the face of uncertainty in the market, people still had faith and trust in us, supported by appealing new model introductions.”

Strategy 2025 is based on the motto “Shaping the future of the sportscar “talks about value generating growth with sustainable action representing a central part. It combines the tradition and values of the company supported with electromobility, digitalisation, technology, connectivity and sustainability.

Porsche’s product strategy consists of four dimensions – the future, the brand image, the products and the lifestyle the cars represent. The main objective understood through this strategy is to achieve value generating growth that will enable sustainable investments in innovative technologies and new products.

New for India in 2020 from Porsche includes the Taycan electric sportscar that will be launched in India during the course of this year, though internationally the car is available in two trims – Taycan S and Taycan Turbo, no clarity has emerged on which of the two would be available in India upon launch.

Porsche also used the opportunity of the Skoda Volkswagen media night to display the new 911 Carrera S Cabriolet. If the model believed to been showcased was the same model launched way back in April 2019, it is pretty much an all new generation car. Packing in a 3.0 litre turbocharged rear mounted motor; it churns out 450hp and 530Nm of torque with the transmission mated to an 8-speed automatic.
